Faith Task Force

People of Faith Get Involved!

Communities of faith have a long history of supporting people living on the margins.  The Faith Community Task Force of Heading Home Minnesota, a statewide effort to end homelessness throughout Minnesota, invites people of all faiths to unite their hearts, their resources, their voices and their time in support of this ambitious effort.  It’s the right thing to do; it’s the smart thing to do; and, most important of all, IT’S DOABLE!

The primary roles of the Task Force:

  1. Education, Awareness and Understanding
  2. Advocacy
  3. Direct involvement in homelessness projects
  4. Being a connector

Want to be part of the solution?  Here are some ways to get involved:

  1. Learn about the issue – arrange for a speaker in your faith community.
  2. Engage others in your community – talk with others in your faith community about your passion for ending homelessness; invite them to join you.
  3. Encourage a financial gift from your faith community (or make one of your own!) to an organization working to end homelessness.
  4. Team up with others in your faith community to volunteer with that organization.
  5. Join your voice with those of others in the religious community speaking out in support of public policies that will end homelessness.  Look for collaborative faith efforts that match your interests.
