Testimonial from Commissioner Steve O'Neil
"Homelessness in our country, state and communities has to be one of the most painful challenges we face. It's always hard to imagine how someone must feel without a place to live amidst our wealth. Through the 1980's and 90's we mostly just reacted to the emergency crisis nature of the issue by just getting people into shelter. In the last eight years, we are finally addressing the root causes and prevention of homelessness. I'm hopeful that our commitment and creative energy will dramatically reduce the number of folks who are homeless. We are seeing progress in St. Louis County and throughout the state."
